Are People Interested In Having A Wedding Or A Marriage? #147

You’ve seen and heard all of the people excited their wedding is coming! They even make tv shows that focus on the bride as her special day approaches. And let’s be real…weddings aren’t even for the groom. He’s just window decoration compared to the bride who has often dreamed of this big day her whole life. But that’s just it… The marriage is the biggest day of a couple’s life and the preparation of it is often huge and expensive depending on how you’ve decided to take your nuptials.

But what happens once the excitement is completed? Couples have planned and put so much into their wedding, that once it’s over, what’s been planned for the actual marriage? Has it sunken in that in some states, half of your belongings now belong to your partner? Have you figured that this is the person you get to wake up every day to for the rest of your life? Have you allowed it to exist that your previous wild life is officially over? Well, unless you and your new spouse have a different approach to monogamy, of course.

Millennials save the day!

Because of Millennials, the divorce rate is now dropping. It’s been measured that about 39% of those married will fail. So, it’s promising that younger people are sticking to their vows but why don’t people just elope or get married at the courthouse? Is the wedding that important where saving just to afford it is worth the day? Some think so. They even takes loans out for them. The stress can become a lot before even considering you could’ve bought a house with that money.

So, after it’s all said and done, is the wedding day worth the marriage or are the 39% justified their divorces…depending on how they ended: cheating, death, irreconcilable differences, etc. Let’s cheat about it and see what people may believe about their marriages and the weddings that got them there.
