Recently, Grammy winner stripper-turned-reality start-turned-rapper, Cardi B (Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) admitted in a social media video how she used to set men up, drug them and rob them. On a separate video, she expressed how she used to get betraying men drunk believing they were going to have a threesome and explain when they woke up, how they had sex with transexuals. To the unsuspecting men, we’re pretty sure they weren’t prepared to wake up having sex with someone not of their sexual preference or their wallets stolen. The entire scheme for Cardi B was out of revenge and a distaste for certain men.
Are they the same crimes?
The internet went into a rage with hashtags such as #cancelcardib or #survivingcardib which was a takeaway from the recent R. Kelly charges of him constantly raping and abusing underage girls. But some men who were seeking an equivalency of Cardi’s behavior instantly compared her to Bill Cosby, the disgraced actor recently sentenced to prison for three to 10 years. Cosby was convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand over 14 years ago. Word had gotten out and several women recollected themselves being in the same situation as Constand. Is it fair to the victims?
With Bill Cosby, 81, locked in prison and Cardi B, 26, free as a bird enjoying fame and a new movie project with Jennifer Lopez, is it fair to compare both crimes and should Cardi be behind bars? Is there an equivalency in the actions of both? One, where Bill Cosby denied all charges and another where Cardi B has admitted to both on social media to her plethora of fans? Is drugging and theft or purposeful intoxication and sex the equivalency of drugging and raping? Let’s discuss!
