Tracking back through the history of police in the United States regarding them shooting citizens dead, it seems the justice system works much better for them than it does for regular citizens. Is being a police officer more valuable in the eyes of the law and the public than the citizens they were sworn to protect? With only 13 officers convicted of murder or manslaughter in fatal on-duty shootings since 2005, there’s a disparity of treatment tilted in favor of people in uniform with badges. How do they matter more than the citizens they’re sworn to protect?
