You can experience your dream vacation. Here are some tips on how to save so you can have a fabulous experience during your  trip.

Set a budget

Decide how much you want to spend on your vacation and break it down into manageable monthly or weekly goals. This will give you a clear idea of how much you need to save each month. We include an emergency fund in our vacation budget for situations that might occur out of our control such as canceled hotel or flights.

Cut back on unnecessary expenses

Can you live without your daily Starbucks? Take a look at your monthly expenses and identify areas where you can cut back. For example, you can reduce your eating out expenses, cancel subscriptions you no longer use, or shop at a cheaper grocery store.

Automate your savings and set up a direct deposit into a separate savings account, specifically designated for your vacation savings. This will help you save consistently without having to think about it.

Side Hustle

Take on a side hustle to make some extra money like selling your clothes, jewelry, purses, furniture or other goods that are sitting around and haven’t been used in a while. Other options are freelance work, part-time seasonal work, rideshares, and delivery services. Include this extra income to boost your vacation savings.

Use credit card rewards and travel points

Use a credit card that offers rewards or travel points for your weekly purchases like groceries and other expenses. You can use these rewards to pay for your flights, accommodation, or activities.

Choose a cheaper destination or time of year: Consider traveling during the off-season or choosing a destination that is more affordable. This can help you save money on flights, accommodation, and activities.
